For many owning a bike or being an avid biker is not just about traveling from one destination to another. Over the years there have been many biker communities recognized all across the world. To be a part of a biker group is like having an extended family and existing with individuals who have the same outlook towards life as you do. It feels good to belong to something bigger than yourself; a movement that challenges you and gets you engaged with the community. Once you are a part of a biking community there are lessons you learn that transform you for life. One of the most popular biking communities around the world is the Harley Davidson biker’s group. The culture of this group is so uniform that you could identify a Harley rider much before you ask him which bike he owns. A black leather jacket, long beards and a muscular body seems like the right profile to hold if you are to buy a Harley Davidson bike any time in your lifetime.

Bikers want to be recognized for their passion and one way they can do so is by becoming a part of a biker’s group that they look forward to the most. As a part of the group you don’t just travel to new places together but you do so while following certain rules set by the community and by respecting each individual’s opinions. This helps you grow into a better functioning human being, the one who is not all about selfish choices. This sense of responsibility does not come from fear of exclusion but is indeed born out of the shared love for biking. Your happiness, satisfaction and sense of accomplishment only gets doubled when you share your feelings with the brothers/sisters from your biker group. Like they say, life is a much better journey when you have loved ones to share it with. Being a part of the group, you also learn more about the intricacies of life. Imagine a moment where you have just covered the highest motorable terrain and you sit down with your group, in the middle of a valley, sharing and listening to various life experiences. The room to grow as an individual is immense. Riding with a group is also much safer than riding alone. In a situation where something unlikely happens on your course, who have a huge army of loved ones who will protect you and the need to rely on strangers for help is non-existent.

It is possible that as you go forward in life and drown in your job and responsibilities, going on a biking adventure is an idea that takes a back-seat. But not when you are a part of a bikers’ club. Eminent plans are made from time to time and you are expected not to count yourself out of them. This way you will always be close to your passion of biking and be reminded of the thrill it brings to you to live life better. In order to have peace of mind, it is important to disassociate yourself from the monotony that life has to offer from time to time and rediscover the purpose of your existence through the adrenaline pumping in your veins.

Once you are a part of the motorcycle culture, you will constantly want to keep updating yourself with all the new technologies and bikes that are introduced in the market, since you want to constantly have something to talk about with the members of your group. This makes you not only a better biker but also a more aware individual in general. Although bike riding in itself exudes a sense of style, just imagine the amount of eyeballs that you could attract if you’re traveling in a group. It gives you a teeny tiny glimpse of how being a celebrity would feel like. Being humanly programmed as we are, all us seek for attention and validation from time to time which is just another perk that comes along with being a part of a biker’s group. Rivalries between motorcycle clubs are very intense, with some riders taking the rivalry to an unhealthy extreme, we have learnt this through a bunch of movies where biker groups are shown as being violent. But this would only be the case in immature groups where individuals do not choose to respect the choices and members of other groups. This stigma is something that should not be attached to a biker community.

Some of the most well-known groups among the biking community of India are the Bajaj Avengers Club, group of superbikers Delhi ( aka G.O.D.S), India bull Riders, The Musafirs club Mumbai, Bangalore motorcycle club and The Roaring Pistons Bangalore. These are just a few of the biker group names that exist in India, almost every city has a biker club of its own and the culture of these groups is very vibrant.

One of the most respectable feelings that you would gain from being a part of a bikers group is a sense of legacy. Since these groups were established years ago, it feels like being a part of a rich family that already has had a lot of members before you joined. But once you’re a part of the group, you can never completely detach yourself from it. Even if you leave behind biking for good, you would have made friends for life who would be there throughout to support your decisions and help you in the time of need. Your biker brothers and sisters will always have your back even if you don’t have yours on a bike seat.
